99 Reasons for Faith - #91: An Autumn Masterpiece

One thing, among many, that I love about living in New England is the extravagant annual pageant the native trees put on in early October. I get to enjoy it day after day for about two to three weeks. There are all sorts of colors, varying from dark evergreen to neon reds and oranges and yellows. I especially like when the sunshine is filtered through the color of the trees and casts a magical glow, filling our physical world with a sense of the magical. It is an experience not to be missed.

The most plausible explanation when we see any great work of art is to credit the artist with his masterpiece. Nobody looks at the Mona Lisa or a Renoir and says, "Wow, pretty cool how these natural pigments and organic materials arranged themselves in a way that our evolutionary instincts would find so helpful for survival." No, we all know that a living intelligent artist has been at work and we marvel and give him the credit that is due.

This fall, as you enjoy a most amazing masterpiece that fills your senses with wonder, may you marvel and give credit to the artist behind it all.
