A "Rant" on Worship Songs
Check out what Jeremy Pierce hates about some worship songs in his post, "Rant About Worship Songs". (Warning: Be prepared for some tongue-in-cheek commentary.)
I know I've never commented on your blog before, but I do drop by every now and then to read your posts!
I found this one particularly interesting... Personally, I think way too much time has been spent arguing about what is "acceptable" church music. I completely understand & appreciate people's desire to keep worship reverent & holy. However, I absolutely agree with Jeremy Pierce when he said "...we need to be very careful that we’re not making an argument against the inspired worship songs included in the scriptures..." and "...certain features can be fine in public worship that are often criticized in contemporary worship music. It does not show that it’s all right for those features to become so dominant in our public worship as to remove the variety we find in the psalter."
